North Cascades
Cascades Field Guide is the operating North Cascades branch of the larger Washington Field Guide model. Use it for current public planning; use this page to understand how the region fits into the statewide system.
The first operating region
A public guide with a deeper research layer behind it
Cascades Field Guide began as a practical tourism website and evolved into the first working regional knowledge system. Its public pages focus on real visitor decisions: where to stay, when to go, what access depends on, where services become limited, and what to do when the preferred plan is not workable.
The database and publishing work now provide the foundation for testing evidence lineage, connected relationships, regional retrieval, corrections, release discipline, and future guest-guidance products.

Why two domains still exist
Cascades Field Guide remains the active flagship.
North Cascades content is not duplicated across both sites. CascadesFieldGuide.com retains the established public pages, audience, partnerships, and current update workflow.
WashingtonFieldGuide.com is becoming the statewide platform and development layer. A future domain or migration decision will require a dedicated SEO, URL, content, and operational transition plan; it is not assumed by this rebrand.
